Education Search Service (ESS)

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not offer initial education and training to become a coach (we only offer professional development for practiced coaches). As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.

To ensure quality education, ICF accredits coaching education organizations that meet the high standards set forth by ICF and ICF Coaching Education. To find ICF-Accredited Providers we suggest that you use our Education Search Service (ESS) below. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. The ESS is designed to give you basic information about all ICF-Accredited Education Providers.

Program Name: Team Coaching Foundations
Program Type: CCE
Program Hours: Core: 10.5 Resource Development: 9.75 Total: 20.25
Organization Description:

Clutterbuck Coaching and Mentoring International (CCMI) is a global consortium of specialist trainers and researchers in the fields of internal coaching, team coaching and developmental mentoring. It conducts leading edge research into all of these areas, with a strong emphasis on good practice and the evidence base that underpins it.

The Practice Lead for CCMI is Prof David Clutterbuck, who heads up the UK team. David is one of the original pioneers of developmental mentoring and coaching, co-founder in 1992 of what is now the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and visiting professor of coaching and mentoring at a number of Universities. He is author or co- author of over 75 books, including the first English language books on coaching culture and on team coaching.

Program Description:
The workshop is aimed at experienced coaches, who wish to enlarge their portfolio from one-to-one coaching to team coaching, or who have some experience of coaching teams, but want to acquire a stronger underpinning of theory, concept and practice. Team coaching is defined as coaching the members of a work team collectively, with the objective of improving team performance. It is not individual coaching for members of the same team, not least because all the members of a team can be high performing while the team performance overall is not.

The workshop covers the key differences between one-to-one and team coaching, the structure of an effective team coaching intervention, core skills, key tools and techniques, and common situations / challenges that the team coach is likely to meet, with guidance on how to manage them. There is extensive opportunity for discussion and for practice.
