The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not offer initial education and training to become a coach (we only offer professional development for practiced coaches). As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.
To ensure quality education, ICF accredits coaching education organizations that meet the high standards set forth by ICF and ICF Coaching Education. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. Founded in 2016, Synthesis Coaching Associates (SCA) provides Life Coach training, advanced specialization programs, and thematic webinars focusing on personal growth and leadership. All programs are delivered in an innovative on-line, on-demand format designed to maximize the learning experience for an international audience while eliminating the environmental impact associated with travel and in-person sessions. To do this we use a combination of the latest distance learning tools, enriched by the collaboration of highly qualified international instructors and mentors presenting the only Life Coach training curriculum that integrates the transformational tools and methodologies of Psychosynthesis, a transpersonal psychology, and holistic approaches combining Eastern and Western philosophies with the highly effective coaching structure of the ICF Core Competencies.

SCA’s Psychosynthesis Life Coach training program “The Transformational Process of Self-Leadership” is structured in 4 tracks tailored to meet the needs of those entering the coaching profession as well as seasoned coaches seeking truly transformational and effective tools and methods. Graduates are awarded certificates as Psychosynthesis Life Coach (PLC), and are not only fully prepared for professional practice, but possess the training requirements for ICF credentialing. Designed to meet the new ICF Level 1 standards, the PLC Practitioner program introduces participants to the principles, tools, and methodologies of Psychosynthesis as applied to coaching, providing a solid grounding in the ICF Core Competencies while integrating the transformational techniques which lead to Self-Leadership in the coaching process. Entirely on-demand, participants start and finish when they want, studying at their own pace. The PLC Practitioner program consists of 60 hours of online, live session work, a minimum of 15 hours of peer coaching, and 5 hours of observed coaching practice, satisfying the ICF training prerequisites for ACC credentialing. Graduates receive certification as Psychosynthesis Life Coach Practitioners. The PLC Practitioner program with the ACC package includes 10 hours of Mentor Coaching required for ICF ACC credentialing as well as certification to ICF perfomance assessment criteria. Graduates from this program have all they need to enter the ACC credential path once they meet the coaching hours requirements. The Level 2 ICF-accredited PLC Advanced Practitioner program includes the Practitioner syllabus, deepening knowledge of the transformational skills and methodologies of Psychosynthesis, integrated with advanced coaching techniques which synthesize Eastern and Western holistic approaches to Self-Leadership and wellbeing. The PLC Advanced Practitioner program consists of 125 hours of online training, a minimum of 30 hours of peer coaching and 12 hours of observed coaching, providing graduates with an extensive grounding in Psychosynthesis Life Coaching as well as the training prerequisites they need for PCC credentialing. Students graduating from this program receive certification as Psychosynthesis Life Coach Advanced Practitioners. For those who wish to move ahead with ICF credentialing, the PLC Advanced Practitioner program with full PCC option includes 10 hours of Mentor Coaching as well as the assessment and performance reviews required for ACC or PCC credentialing, greatly streamlining and simplifying the credentialing process for the new coach once the coaching experience requirements are met. |
