Education Search Service (ESS)

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not offer initial education and training to become a coach (we only offer professional development for practiced coaches). As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.

To ensure quality education, ICF accredits coaching education organizations that meet the high standards set forth by ICF and ICF Coaching Education. To find ICF-Accredited Providers we suggest that you use our Education Search Service (ESS) below. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. The ESS is designed to give you basic information about all ICF-Accredited Education Providers.

Program Description: The John Mattone Intelligent Leadership (IL) Assessment-Driven Leadership Development Certification Program™ is a two-day immersion into all aspects of improving an individual’s competencies in their outer core, while strengthening the interplay between their inner core and outer core, so they continue to become their greatest as individuals and leaders. One of the unique strengths of the John Mattone Intelligent Leadership Coaching Process™ is that it creates inflection points for the individual to become open to stepping out of their comfort zones and willing to disrupt their current way of thinking, so they can think differently, think big, become courageous in their leadership, and vigilant in their focus. When they begin their Individual Leadership Development Plan (ILDP), they are eager for their growth and comfortable with the exercise they recognize is not just of their mind, but also of their heart.

One of the tenets of the John Mattone Intelligent Leadership Coaching Process™ is “Prescription before diagnosis is malpractice”. The ILDP brings these measurements (their diagnoses) and the leader’s customized Core Purpose Statement™ together and is where, co-creating with the coach, the client creates both their strategic plan (prescription) and their specific implementation steps, their actions, to achieve their goals for the success they have now clearly identified. The ILDP is where the unique and specific resources to support the client achieving their goals is determined and identified. The ILDP is where the client recognizes they are supported stepping out of their comfort zones, so they can become open and vulnerable to making the changes necessary to become their greatest. The ILDP is where the client determines their unique measurements for their success - their leading indicators - so they stay vigilant and present to how they are leading and where they need to recalibrate to achieve their goals.

This course includes:
1. Pre-work of studying the resources that are leveraged in the ILDP process. These include the John Mattone integrated assessments of the Mattone Leadership Enneagram Inventory™, the Strategic-Tactical Leadership Index-360™, and the Core Purpose Statement™. Other multi-rater assessments can be discussed during the two-day program, but specific examples will not be introduced.
2. Training, discussion, and exercises specifically designed to teach the elements of the ILDP, prepare the coach to understand how to position the ILDP with the client, how to identify inflection points in the assessments that help guide the client to discover their unique areas of focus, how to support the client identifying their areas of measurement, how to determine the targeted resources that provide the most support for the client in their growth and achieving their goals, and how to prepare the client for measuring their improvement using the LeaderWatch™ assessments.
3. Follow-up certification questions, designed to measure the coach’s knowledge and skill from the course, have been specifically created based on the eleven ICF Core Competencies.
