The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not offer initial education and training to become a coach (we only offer professional development for practiced coaches). As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.
To ensure quality education, ICF accredits coaching education organizations that meet the high standards set forth by ICF and ICF Coaching Education. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. The Strategic-Tactical Leadership Index (STLI-360) is a proprietary multi-rater assessment researched and created by John Mattone. The STLI-360 is a powerfully accurate “outer-core” assessment that calibrates and measures the nine critical leadership competencies and 72 behaviors that determine leadership success. John’s philosophy and the Intelligent Leadership (IL) philosophy is “prescription before diagnosis is malpractice” so, therefore, coaches will learn that the foundation for helping their clients create accurate “prescriptions”—Individual Leadership Development Plans that leverage their gifts and strengths and address development gaps is based on the accurate calibration and measurement of their clients’ “inner-core” and “outer-core” and then helping them accurately identify the strength and development themes that emerge based on the interplay of the assessments utilized. The STLI-360 Certification Program provides IL coaches with a compelling “deep dive” of this concept and then provides them with the tools and roadmap for successfully administering, interpreting and debriefing this powerful assessment. |
