Education Search Service (ESS)

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not offer initial education and training to become a coach (we only offer professional development for practiced coaches). As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.

To ensure quality education, ICF accredits coaching education organizations that meet the high standards set forth by ICF and ICF Coaching Education. To find ICF-Accredited Providers we suggest that you use our Education Search Service (ESS) below. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. The ESS is designed to give you basic information about all ICF-Accredited Education Providers.

Program Description: C.O.A.C.H. Programme is divided into two main parts:
1) C.O.A.C.H. (Modules 1, 2 and 3) The practice of ‘do coaching’ to introduce students to the content of coaching, the core competences, ethics and contracting as well as basics of a coaching mindset, models of coaching, question techniques, basic communication, learning styles and language, trust and rapport, the ICF requirements for assessment and certification
2) C.O.A.C.H. (Modules 4, 5, 6 and 7). The practice of 'How to be a coach' to deepen students knowledge of coaching through understanding how how to develop the core competences and make them real part of your mindset. It covers Mentoring and Coaching, the client learning journey and how clients learn, professional development, the need for supervision, understanding and working with the 'self' to be fully present, transactional analysis and the games people play, introduces motivational patterns. Teams and team coaching and social loafing. Module 7 focuses on ‘being’ a coach and on how mindfulness and being present can strengthen all eight core competences with special emphasis on creating awareness, establishing trust and intimacy, coaching presence and active listening.
