The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not offer initial education and training to become a coach (we only offer professional development for practiced coaches). As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.
To ensure quality education, ICF accredits coaching education organizations that meet the high standards set forth by ICF and ICF Coaching Education. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. Use your leadership coaching skills to support people to lead, engage and inspire others. This programme is for people committed to supporting leaders, managers and supervisors to achieve more through skilled leadership coaching. This programme is suitable for in-house coaches and those looking to develop an independent coaching practice working with leaders and managers. In a complex and fast-moving world, whether you plan to coach in the private, public or humanitarian sectors, leaders and managers need specialised support from coaches - to inspire, motivate and lead others. The Forton Coaching Certified Leadership Programme is the ideal start for these specialist coaching skills and requires no prior experience. Experienced coaches who wish to develop their leadership coaching skills and transfer into this niche, are also welcomed.
Programme Overview
The Certified Leadership Coach programme gives a comprehensive understanding of theory and practical methods to coach people working in leadership, management or supervisory roles. Participants will practice coaching and being coached to the ICF ‘ACC’ (Associate Certified Coach) standard in real life situations, relevant to the world of corporate leadership and management. Discover the Professional Leadership Coaching Model, core coaching skills and how coaching improves performance, leadership and management in organisations. For those coaches looking to further develop their professional practice, this programme also links to the Level 2 option "Professional Leadership Coach".
Learning Hours:
With 70 live contact hours, including observed and mentor coaching, you'll receive plenty of 1-1 support and feedback, working in small class groups of up to 18 people. The programme also provides online, self-paced learning materials including reading, audio and video, to support the theory and practise of leadership coaching.
You'll explore what we mean by purpose, coaching for vision, values and to grow authentic leaders. You'll explore how to coach working with different leadership styles and supporting your clients' emotional intelligence, emotional capacity and improve working relationships as a result. You'll also support them to develop their resourcefulness, better plan and explore successful options, helping them identify risks and address them - to achieve their personal, professional and business goals - as well as supporting their teams and colleagues to be successful to. By the end of this in-person or virtual programme you will learn how to -
•Use coaching skills and principles with confidence
•Coach others, for them to grow as leaders
•Build emotional intelligence and create positive alliances
