Education Search Service (ESS)

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not offer initial education and training to become a coach (we only offer professional development for practiced coaches). As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.

To ensure quality education, ICF accredits coaching education organizations that meet the high standards set forth by ICF and ICF Coaching Education. To find ICF-Accredited Providers we suggest that you use our Education Search Service (ESS) below. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. The ESS is designed to give you basic information about all ICF-Accredited Education Providers.

Program Type: CCE
Program Hours: Core: 12 Resource Development: 12 Total: 24
Organization Description:
Program Description: Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston and the author of six #1 New York Times bestsellers. She has spent the past two decades studying
courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy as well as seven years researching leadership and organizational cultures. When Brené interviewed 150 global C-suite level executives about what’s most important to the future of leadership, one clear answer emerged: “We need braver leaders and more courageous cultures.” Leaders are defined as “anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes and who has the courage to develop that potential”.

Based on over 400.000 pieces of data and from her work with all types of organizations, Brené developed Dare to Lead™ – an empirically based courage-building program. Covering the four teachable, observable, and measurable courage skills sets, the Dare to Lead™ curriculum includes:
1. Rumbling with Vulnerability: Facing risk, uncertainty, and emotional exposure with courage and clarity.
2. Living into our Values: Identifying, operationalizing, and practicing the beliefs that we hold most important.
3. Braving Trust: Creating or deepening connections in relationships and teams based on the seven elements of trust.
4. Learning to Rise: Learning and growing from the failures, setbacks, and disappointments that are inevitable when we are brave with our lives.

Daring leaders live their values and are never silent about hard things. They hold themselves and others accountable, build trust, lead with empathy and connection, reset quickly
after setbacks and give and receive feedback – even when it’s tough.

More than 40000 people have completed the global courage building program.
