The ESS is a free, searchable directory of coaching education that is accredited by ICF. ICF-accredited education has gone through a rigorous review process and demonstrated that its curriculum aligns with the ICF definition of coaching, Core Competencies and Code of Ethics. Level One,
Level Two, and Level Three offerings deliver foundational coach-specific education and training. Continuing Coach Education (CCE) offerings provide advanced and supplemental learning opportunities for trained and credentialed coach practitioners.
As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.

| Program Description: |
The program "Mentor Coaching Essential: from Theory to Mastery" is designed for experienced coaches, who would like to offer mentor coaching services within ICF system, to provide high-quality individual and group mentor coaching, and support their colleagues in their credentialing journeys. The program develops participants’ ability to observe coaching over time, conduct formative appraisals, provide evidence-based developmental feedback, and support each coach in integrating learning into a unique and authentic coaching style.
The program is intensive, includes a lot of practical workshops, and is aligned with the six ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies, the ICF Core Competencies, the ICF Code of Ethics, and current credential-level evaluation requirements for ACC, PCC, and MCC. The theoretical materials cover mentor coaching competencies, session assessment guidelines for all three levels (ACC, PCC, MCC), bias awareness, and feedback guidelines are aligned with the ICF Core Competencies and ICF Mentor Coach Competencies. The practical part of the course contains observed sessions, mentoring on mentoring, mentor coaching practice. All practical workshops are conducted by MCC-level coach/MCS mentor, who has experience in conducting individual and group mentor coaching sessions.
Learning combines 60 synchronous hours and 30 asynchronous hours. It includes advanced competency study, analysis of recorded coaching, observation and calibration discussions, individual and group practice, five observed mentor coaching sessions per participant with written instructor feedback, five mentoring-on-mentoring sessions, and a portfolio review - a curated collection of student work through the course. Successful completion demonstrates the participant’s readiness to provide structured, ethical, competency-based mentor coaching and to continue developing through reflective practice.
The program requires verified completion of current ACC BARS, PCC Markers, and MCC BARS training within the authorized curriculum.
