Education Search Service (ESS)
The ESS is a free, searchable directory of coaching education that is accredited by ICF. ICF-accredited education has gone through a rigorous review process and demonstrated that its curriculum aligns with the ICF definition of coaching, Core Competencies and Code of Ethics. Level One,
Level Two, and Level Three offerings deliver foundational coach-specific education and training. Continuing Coach Education (CCE) offerings provide advanced and supplemental learning opportunities for trained and credentialed coach practitioners.
As the accrediting body for coach-specific education and accredited providers, we cannot recommend any specific coaching education organizations.
To find ICF-Accredited Providers that meet your individual needs, we suggest that you use our Education Search Service (ESS) below. The search for a coach education program is a highly individual process that depends greatly on your personal preferences and goals. The ESS is designed to give you basic information about all ICF-Accredited Education Providers.

Description: |
We are an educational provider of coach training, mentoring and supervision. |
| Program Description: |
Istishraf is an Arabic word meaning the act of ascending to higher ground to see one's surroundings. Coaching Supervision is the oversight of the coaching process itself, allowing both supervisor and supervisee to explore, learn, and analyze what is happening in the coaching relationship, and what needs to be aligned, restored, normalized, formalized, or evaluated. After three years of developing this program, the opportunity through ICF has allowed us to bring forward a program that is one of a kind in presenting coaching supervision aligned with the highest standards.
This program will cover ethics, anti-oppressive practices, coaching competencies and listening skills, coaching supervision competencies, and mentoring competencies and skills — including how to differentiate between the three functions. It will also draw broadly on clinical supervision theory and practice, including tools for understanding transference and countertransference, parallel process, and transactional analysis. It will build on established supervision models such as Peter Hawkins' Seven-Eyed Model, Otto Laske's Three Houses model, and David Clutterbuck's approach to team coaching supervision. While the ICF Code of Ethics draws a clear line between coaching and mental health work, we bring the experience needed to help coaching supervisors understand mental, developmental, and psychological issues — so they, in turn, can support coaches in recognizing boundaries and evaluating client cases appropriately. Our experience in group and team coaching supervision, using Alison Hodge's Mapping the Territory model, will further set this program apart. Having taught ICF's Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC), which covers interpersonal group dynamics, we will bring that expertise into the group supervision curriculum.
We hope Istishraf will become the most prominent and go-to program of its kind in the MENA region. A companion book, also titled Istishraf, is currently in development alongside the program. |
